Haresh C. Shah Honored in Singapore

On July 27, 2015, Haresh C. Shah (M. EERI, 1972) received an Honorary Doctor of Letters degree from Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

On July 27, 2015, Haresh C. Shah (M. EERI, 1972) received an Honorary Doctor of Letters degree from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), awarded personally from the President of the Republic of Singapore, Tony Tan Keng Yam.

The degree was given in recognition of Professor Shah's exceptional and outstanding contributions to the academic development of the university and his role in the transformation of NTU into a highly-ranked international multi-disciplinary research university.

Shah is the Obayashi Professor of Engineering, Emeritus, at Stanford University, and founder of Risk Management Solutions. A pioneer in the fields of risk analysis, earthquake engineering, and probabilistic methods, Professor Shah has been the recipient of EERI's Alfred E. Alquist Special Recognition Medal, and, for his extraordinary and lasting contributions to earthquake safety worldwide, the George W. Housner medal.
