The EERI Stanford Student Chapter and the Blume Earthquake Engineering Center organized a trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
A total of 33 students attended the visit, where they spent the morning exploring the aquarium exhibits, learning more about marine life, and enjoying the opportunity to spend time together outside of the usual academic setting.
Some of the highlights of the trip included the jellyfish and deep-sea exhibits, which many students found especially impressive.
After visiting the aquarium, the group had lunch together at a nearby restaurant, making the trip a great opportunity not only to explore Monterey but also to strengthen the SEM student community.
