Since its release to the sponsors of the Reliablility of Marine Structures program in 1994 , TFPOP has proven to be a useful tool in a number of RMS investigations (Winterstein et al, 1994 ; Ude, 1994; Winterstein and Kumar, 1995) and has been applied by several program sponsors in their own in house analyses. Much positive feedback has been received and a few minor flaws revealed.

The present report , RMS-18, documents a new release (version 2.0 ) of the TFPOP software andi an update to the original TFPOP report, RMS-15. Both the software and the document have undergone some significant changes. Included in the new version of the software are some major additions in terms of capabilities and numerous minor enhancements , almost all of which have been made in response to feed back from the users of the program. This new report contains documentation of all new features, improved discussion of some of the original features, and some added detail on topics that have given rise to questions from the users in the past.

This introduction to TFPOP version 2.0 is being provided for users already familiar with version I of the program: it highlights the new capabilities and contains pointers to the sections in the manual where they are discussed more fully. Throughout the manual, margin notes are includes to draw atrention to changes. A margin note of the form New in RMS-18 denotes a new or expanded discussion relatives to RMS-15.
