Blume Center faculty and alumni contribute to the EERI-GEER report on the Türkiye earthquakes

Professor Eduardo Miranda and several Blume Center alumni participated in the recently released report from EERI and GEER on the 2023 Kahramanmaraş Earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.  Among the alumni were Ayse Hortacsu (MS '02), who was part of the advance team and served as co-editor on the report and recently returned to Stanford to give a seminar to the EERI student chapter; Jonathan Bray (MS '81), Rupa Garai (MS '05), Ricardo Henoch (MS '11), Ezra Jampole (MS '16) and Bret Lizundia (MS '88).

Professor Miranda, in the last few weeks, has worked with seven different teams that traveled to Turkey and Syria to produce the report.  

Earthquake Spectra has recently issued a call for papers for a special collection of papers on the February 2023 Earthquake Sequence; Professor Jack Baker is editor-in-chief.
