Weimin Dong (PhD '86) dies at 88
Admitted to the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University in 1982, Weimin earned his Master’s and Ph.D. under Professor Haresh Shah. At the John A. Blume Earthquake Engineering Center, he developed pioneering, science-based models for earthquake loss estimation, transforming how the U.S. insurance industry assessed and insured catastrophic risk.
